Useful Information
Health & Safety

Food & Drinking Water: In Cyprus food and drinking water are of a high quality, certainly safe and free of diseases. Cyprus is also free from dangerous infectious diseases.

Cuisine overseas can vary from home and may contain ingredients, oils and spices that your body is not used to.

Health: When in hot countries always remember to drink plenty of water and bear in mind that alcohol speeds dehydration. Due to a high mineral content in tap water, it is advisable to drink bottled water.

Sunbathing: Anyone who goes out in the sun risks sunburn whether it is on the beach, on a boat, or just walking around. A high protection sun cream should be used for the first few days of your holiday before you move on to lower factor creams. Remember to re-apply sun creams frequently.

Swimming Pools: Make sure that you familiarise yourself and your party with the pool layout and depth before you take your first plunge. Do not swim if the water becomes unclear. You should not swim for at least one hour after eating and never swim if you have been drinking alcohol.

Children: At the start of your holiday we ask you to spend some time with the younger members of your party discussing safety and reminding them not to use any lift on their own.

Bathroom Safety: As most bathroom floors are tiled and very few overseas accommodations provide non-slip bath/shower mats, please take extra care when the floor becomes wet.

Glass Safety: Please take care as you approach any glass patio or main doors as it is often difficult to see that they are closed in bright sunlight. For those of you travelling with your children please be aware that in most countries it is not a legal obligation to fit ‘toughened’ or safety glass.

Balconies: Special care should be taken around patios and terraces, as these areas may become slippery especially after swimming. If you are travelling with young children, please supervise them at all times when on balcony.

Lift Safety: Do not smoke when inside a lift, and under no circumstances use in the event of a fire. Children should never use a lift unless accompanied by an adult.

Fire Safety: On arrival to your accommodation, please read any literature on fire safety provided in your room. Familiarise yourself with all emergency exit routes, location of fire extinguishers and, if applicable, fire alarm.

Security: We recommend that you take care whilst on holiday as you would at home. Keep windows and doors locked when you are out of the room and while sleeping. We suggest that you hire a safety box for your money, passports and other items of value. Take care of your room key, and don’t take any items of value to the beach, the pool or leave them in hired cars.
